What is LNG and how does it work?
While the majority of the natural gas arriving at the LNG facility will be processed and exported as liquefied natural gas (LNG), a small amount will be used to power the gas turbine generators to generate the electrical power required to operate the two LNG processing trains.
What is Evol LNG?
EVOL LNG offers a complete package, delivering natural gas to the power station, ready for use in gas or dual fuel generating sets. We build, own, operate and maintain all LNG storage and vaporisation infrastructure. Natural gas is supplied to a customer as if it had come from a natural gas pipeline.
What is the LNG supply contract?
The LNG supply contract is a key deliverable for the 95 MW Hybrid Power Station. The power station comprises wind turbines, solar panels, battery storage, diesel and gas-fired generators, which are designed to operate in 'engine off' mode enabling Liontown to operate from 100% renewable energy during periods of high wind and solar penetration.
How will the CCPP power liquefy LNG?
Ultimately powered by natural gas from the Ichthys Field, the CCPP will use a mix of five gas and three steam turbine generators to supply all the electricity requirements for onshore processing of LNG. The power plant has capacity for up to 490 megawatts of electricity, which allows LNG processing trains to cool and liquefy natural gas.
