Abstract: This paper investigates the enactment of battery energy storage system (BESS) and static compensator (STATCOM) in enhancing large-scale power system transient voltage and frequency stability, and improving power export capacity within two interconnected power systems.
Therefore, the strategy proposed in this paper can reduce frequency deviation of power system and auxiliary frequency regulation to maintain stable operation of power system. Taking the energy storage of 5G base station as the flexible FR resources, the control strategy of energy storage of 5G base station participating in FR is proposed.
The primary responsibility of the base station energy storage is to protect the power supply of the base station, so the dynamic backup capacity of the base station in real time will be considered in the future. The structure of base station provides conditions for energy storage to assist in power system frequency regulation. Although the power output of a single base station storage is limited, the combined regulation of large-scale base stations can have a significant meaning.

The energy storage of base station has the potential to promote frequency stability as the construction of the 5G base station accelerates.
